2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class Debuts in Canada
Mercedes-Benz A-Class took the world by storm immediately after its announcement. The new fourth-generation model of the A-Class inherited some of the coolest features from the flagship car of the brand, the S-Class. It was astonishing to see that such an amazing treatment was given to the entry-level car of the brand, and it quickly grabbed everyone’s attention. What was even more astonishing was that Mercedes-Benz announced that for the first time in its history the A-Class will be coming to North America. This announcement proved to be absolutely true as Mercedes-Benz officially debuted the A-Class on 14th November 2018.
The event of the official launch was held at the REBEL nightclub in downtown Toronto. The new models of the A-Class were obviously the main attraction of the event. The officials from Mercedes-Benz displayed the stunning new MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system, which is featured in the A-Class models. This big event was attended by almost 2,000 people who go witness the history firsthand.
The models that were launched during the event were the Mercedes-Benz A-Class hatchback and the A-Class sedan. It is amazing to see that Canada will be getting both variants of the A-Class, while the USA will only be getting the sedan variant. Both of these models are expected to go on sale in early 2019.
The event was set up beautifully. The organizers took full advantage of the gigantic digital screens available at the nightclub venue and showcased their upcoming product quite nicely. The most wonderful highlight of the event was testing of the voice command on MBUX. A representative from Mercedes-Benz would simply say, “Hey Mercedes, set the mood” and all the screens in the venue would simply react by updating. This action would immediately transform the look of the entire venue, which made it an awesome presentation.
After all the theatrics and wonderful showcases, the cars were finally revealed and received a massive applause from the people in attendance. The cars were then parked in the middle of the hall for people to have a closer look.
The event also featured a surprise announcement by Mercedes-Benz. The representatives from the German automakers revealed that the brand is currently working on a new crossover vehicle, which is named the GLB. The vehicle will be squeezed in the lineups of the GLA and GLC-Class. The CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada also emphasized this fact by stating that it will be “Smaller than the GLC”.
The event was pretty successful and it has officially launched the A-Class on the Canadian soil. You just have to wait for a while before you can get your hands on one.
