2019 Mercedes-Benz C300 4MATIC What’s New?
Mercedes-Benz is clearly moving towards a new design language in the coming generations of each of its models. This was made evidently clear by the launch of the new A-Class and GLE-Models this year. The C-Class still has a few years left on its current generation, so Mercedes-Benz decided to treat its 2019 model with a mild upgrade.
One of the major changes that you can expect from the new C300 4MATIC is inside the engine. It is the same 2.0L inline-4 turbocharged engine, but it produces 255 HP, which is 13 HP more than the 2018 model. The torque stays the same as well— 273 lb-ft.
Another big change in terms of performance is the transmission. Mercedes-Benz has decided to ditch the 7-speed transmission for the C300 4MATIC and introduce the brand new 9G-TRONIC 9-speed transmission. It has a well-engineered transmission box that perfectly distributes the power between the gears. This transmission will soon be available in almost all Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
Styling pretty much remains the same, but there some changes if you look closely. The front bumper is now standard with chrome-plated trim. The LED headlamps at the front have been redesigned a tad bit.
The only change in the interior of the car that you may notice is a redesigned engine, start/stop button, and the new Mercedes-Benz leather-wrapped steering wheel. This steering wheel now has touch sensitive control pads that can be used to control both the screens inside the car. The rest of the interior is exactly the same as last year’s model.
There are some slight changes in the options list. You can now get an optional 10.3-inch screen on the center console instead of the standard 7.0-inch. You also have a choice between walnut and grey oak wood as the theme for your dashboard and doors. The upholstery can also be selected from the brand new color of grey/black magma.
Should You Buy It?
The answer to that question is a big yes. The C-Class has been an entry-level luxury sedan of the Mercedes-Benz brand for quite a long time. However, it has significantly improved over the years. Thanks to the additional lower models such as the CLA-Class and A-Class, the C-Class is well above in ranks now. It has earned the praiseworthy title of ‘Baby S-Class’.
The new 2019 C300 4MATIC certainly hasn’t received as many updates as facelift models usually get. However, you cannot improve what is already perfect. The 2019 Mercedes-Benz has the perfect engine and all-wheel drive system that you can find in a compact luxury sedan.
