The exterior design and the size of the GLA45 hatchback from Mercedes-Benz have confused quite a few car enthusiasts. The hatchback is neither too big nor too small.

The base of the GLA45 is 1.8-inches lower than the regular GLA250 4MATIC, but it has firmer springs, bushings, anti-roll bars, and dampers. It has 20-inch wheels which are wrapped in Continental ContiProContact 5P performance rubber tires. The brakes, grip on the skid pad, and body control are quite impressive. The suspension is extremely tight.

The electric power steering is quite quick and firm as it takes just 2.5 turns to go from lock to lock. The Aerodynamics Package provides the GLA45 with canards in the front fascia and big wings at the rear. The Night Styling Package has glossy black trims and tailpipe surrounds in black chrome.

The steering wheel is of faux suede. The seats are of black leather, and have red stitches and seatbelts along with a black headliner. The Driver Assistance Package and the Multimedia Package (with rearview camera, seven inch screen, and voice-controlled navigation) are very impressive. The Driver Assistance can help you with navigating blind spots and lane changes. There is an option of a Distronic Plus cruise control.
