Your car’s engine is the heart of your vehicle and the oil is its bloodstream. If you want to increase the lifespan of your engine it’s important to keep the oil at the proper level and to make sure it’s clean. The reality is, oil does wear out. Repeated heating and cooling, plus the accumulation of particles, makes oil get thicker. This decreases its ability to flow and can leave harmful deposits in your engine. This can cause considerable damage. Mercedes-Benz Certified Service technicians know how your vehicle uses oil and how it monitors oil life. Having a Certified Service expert change your oil not only gives you great service and convenience, but you know it’s been done right.  Come to #MercedesBenzBrampton’s certified service department when it’s time for your vehicle’s next oil change.

However, there are things you can do in between oil changes. For example, you can periodically check your oil level. To get an accurate reading, the oil needs to be warm or at normal operating temperature and the vehicle should be on level ground. You can always consult your Mercedes-Benz Owner’s Manual for the proper procedure for checking your oil level.

If you do need to add oil, be sure to choose the proper grade of oil for your Mercedes-Benz. Check with our Mercedes-Benz Brampton service team to find out the right grade of oil for your specific vehicle.  You can also look at the specs in your Owner’s Manual. Various oils contain a variety of characteristics that can affect your vehicle’s performance, offer varying levels of engine protection and can also extend the time between oil changes.

An Oil Life System (OLS) is now standard on most vehicles.  This system monitors operating conditions continuously, such as your vehicle’s speed and engine temperature. This information helps determine when it’s time for an oil change.  The OLS also factors in your personal driving habits and the climate in which you live. When you see the OLS light come on, bring your car in for service.
