July 15th, 2016 by

The new Mercedes-Benz AMG GT-R is based on the concept of front and mid engine transmission in a transaxle configuration on the back or rear axle. This is a frequently tested concept in the AMG GT and AMG GT S and helps in achieving a rear-biased weight distribution between 47.3 and 52.7. This, coupled with the car’s low center of gravity leads to a very agile handling of the car and allows the car to deal with high cornering speeds. It has a power to weight ratio of 2.66 kilograms per hp or horsepower and enjoys a high standing position in its class of cars.

The development and creation of the new AMG GT-R took the collaboration of the talents of automobile designers and aerodynamic engineers who worked together endlessly and intensively to create this wonder of a car. The AMG goes by a design idiom – “Dynamic Presence”, that forms the foundation for the very obvious and distinct overall look and visual appearance of this car. Form precedes function and functions help support the form.

All the elements and features in the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT-R work together beautifully and each of them has their own special and unique technical benefit and coherently contributes to the car’s overall drivetrain and performance and helps enhance driving dynamics. The aerodynamics experts down at Mercedes have answered all the prayers and wishes of drivers and have made their dreams a reality with the new Mercedes AMG GT R.
