Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC is the Hottest 4-Door Coupe in the Market
The 4-door coupe trend was actually started by Mercedes-Benz back in 2004 when it launched the CLS-Class. Many car enthusiasts and automotive companies refused to accept the concept of a 4-door coupe at first. However, as time passed and the CLS-Class became successful in the markets, many automotive companies jumped the wagon and started introducing their versions of the 4-door coupes.
Since Mercedes-Benz have tamed down the CLS-Class in the last few years, the company needed a bigger and more powerful 4-door coupe. It needed a 4-door coupe that would compete directly with BMW M6 Gran Coupe, Audi RS7, and the Porsche Panamera.
After teaming up with AMG, Mercedes-AMG finally revealed the AMG GT 63 S 4-door coupe, which is ready to reclaim the crown of the hottest 4-door coupe in the market.
Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4-door coupe is actually the 4-door version of the Mercedes-AMG GT sports car. The relationship between the two cars is clearly visible when you look at the design aesthetics of both cars. The front end of both cars has similar grills and headlights with only minor differences. The same is the case with the back. Overall, the AMG GT 4-door is much bigger than the GT as it had to accommodate two more doors.
The interior of the car instantly reminds you of the E-Class, but it has some noticeable differences. One of the best things about the interior is the massive center console that is custom designed for the car by AMG. It mimics the design of a V8 engine with perfectly placed buttons and control knobs.
Unlike its sports car GT sibling, the GT 4-door Coupe by Mercedes-AMG features the unique all-wheel drive system that is also called ‘4MATIC’. This system intelligently distributes the power between all four wheels in order to make sure you have a stable ride all the time. The car also features four-wheel steering, which provides unbelievable handling at both higher and lower speeds.
The engine in the GT 4-door coupe is the most powerful engine that Mercedes-AMG currently makes. The 4.0 L bi-turbo V8 engine produces 639 HP and 664 lb-ft of torque. This immense power is enough to propel this massive vehicle from 0-60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. This acceleration will humiliate most of the sports cars out there.
Comfort and Practicality
The interior of the car is covered mostly in alcantara material to provide the sporty feel. You can also find high quality veneer wood and aluminum air vents, which are just typical Mercedes-Benz materials. The car is also loaded with top-of-the line MBUX system, which can used to control temperature, ambient lighting, and stereo system. The sporty seats are also heated and ventilated, and they also have a massaging feature.
Despite having a sporty slope at the back end, the car has a trunk space of about 14 cubic feet, and if you fold down the backseats, then you can get almost 47 cubic feet of space for your cargo. This is not bad for a coupe that considers practicality as its last priority.
