Mercedes- Benz Is Building A Pickup – II
Taking off from part one of this series…
It was earlier confirmed by Mercedes-Benz that the new pickup truck will be sharing its platform along with Nissan NP300 Navara’s next-generation lineups due to its partnership with Renault Nissan. There was an agreement between both Nissan and Mercedes-Benz for jointly collaborating on the development of the new truck, thus making it a true joint venture in all senses.
The glimpses of the GLE Coupe from a front clip hints that it will be featuring high hood, large grille and broad shoulders. Undoubtedly, all these features indicate that the new truck will be blessed with good proportions.
The proportions of the coupe were dropped to assume a passenger compartment similar to that of an SUV with large doors and tall greenhouse.
It is also likely that Mercedes-Benz would be incorporating its own designing detailing into the pickup. The rendering also demonstrates the vehicles swooping accent lines that flow onto its bed so that the entire thing can be tied together. Moreover, these lines will make great sense when you think of its cargo box getting replaced with a utility box or a flat bed.
Since in all likelihood, the new truck will be more of a utility vehicle, the tires with low profile and the regular 21-inch wheels have been discarded and replaced with wheels of a greater conservative size in tires whose sidewalls are visible. But despite the change, all the wheels look excellent.
Mercedes-Benz is sure to provide crew cab, as well as, single cab configurations thus enabling customers to select that will suit fine for their use.
