Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a concept version of their new pickup truck. The company first announced their plans for the vehicle March of 2015, but this is the first time anyone has seen details about the design. The car is expected to go on sale in late 2017, but will only be available in certain markets.

Mercedes-Benz showed two different versions of the truck called the X-Class. One of the trucks was a green version that was outfitted for off-road driving. The other truck was a luxury trim model that had high-end details like a wood-trimmed interior. Customers will have many different options and features. Some of these choices include many high-end materials and cutting-edge entertainment technologies, similar to those on other Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The top-of-the-line model will feature a six-cylinder diesel engine and all-wheel drive.

Most luxury car manufacturers haven’t produced a pickup truck, and Mercedes-Benz isn’t new to the truck industry, selling large commercial trucks worldwide. This isn’t the first time Mercedes-Benz has been on the forefront of something new. The company was one of the first luxury car manufacturers to produce a luxury crossover SUV. They first introduced their M-class SUV in the 1990s.

As the truck nears production, drivers can expect Mercedes-Benz to continue to engineer only the best for their consumers.
