Mercedes-Benz Shares Plans To Create Electric Sub-Brand
Mercedes-Benz has confirmed their plans for an ‘EQ’ electric car sub-brand. After the company unveiled their new Generation EQ electric SUV concept last month at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz said that this vehicle was the first of many electric cars. The brand recently released more details about their future plans.
Mercedes-Benz will build an electric SUV based on their Generation EQ vehicle. The car will be produced in an existing plant in Germany. EQ will be used as a sub-brand for the new electric cars Mercedes-Benz manufactures. The company hopes to have more than 10 all electric cars in their portfolio by 2025.
The Generation EQ concept vehicle has a unique look. It is an SUV with coupe-like styling with a new “electro look” design. This new design will be used on all of the new electric cars Mercedes-Benz plans on producing. The Generation EQ concept vehicle has a range of 500 kilometers and has a new platform designed specifically for electric cars. The platform was designed to be flexible enough to fit many variations.
Reports are unclear of the exact date the first electric will be sold, but some say it will be in 2018. If you are looking to purchase a new #MercedesBenz or just want to look at a few options, visit us at Mercedes-Benz Brampton. For more information, check out our website at www.mbBrampton.ca.
