Mercedes-Benz is planning to enter the 2018 Formula E Championship. The company signed an agreement with Formula E Operations Limited. Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix would need approval from the FIA World Motorsport Association to gain one of two entry spots that were recently made available.

Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix Limited is based in England, and is responsible for the Mercedes-Benz Formula 1 racing program. The 2018-2019 Formula E season is the first race to require teams to use one car for the entire race, rather than the two-car format. The two-car has been in place since the beginning of the all electric formula car in 2014. Now that electric technology has advanced, race officials have recognized the vehicles can last the entirety of the race. The electric motors have significantly improved, as well as the battery efficiency.

#Mercedes-Benz hopes their involvement in the racing series will help them further develop their electric-powered technology. They believe that electric cars will be a huge part of the future automotive industry. If you are interested in seeing what Mercedes-Benz has to offer, come see us at Mercedes-Benz Brampton.
