Here are some of the most iconic cars ever built by Mercedes-Benz:

600 Pullman (1963-1981)

Also known as Mercedes-Benz 600, the Pullman is certainly one of the most important cars in the German carmakers’ history. It was by far the most luxurious car in its era as it was owned by some of the most famous people at the time. Hollywood stars, world leaders, and even Saudi royalty absolutely adored this car for its comfort and stylish looks. It was available as a luxury sedan and as a stretch limousine.

190E Cosworth 2.5-16 Evolution II (1987)

Cosworth is a UK based auto-tuning company with a rich history in Formula 1. They have also tuned some of the most iconic cars in history, and one of them was the 1987 Mercedes-Benz 190E. The car was initially built for a rally, but then Mercedes-Benz and Cosworth backed out; instead, it competed in DTM. The road version of the 190E is still loved by car enthusiast around the world. It is considered to be one of the most iconic cars ever built under the three-pointed star badge.

E-Class W123 (1976-1986)

The E-Class W123 model is considered by many people as the most reliable car ever made by Mercedes-Benz. It became an instant sensation after its launch in 1976. It featured different variants of gasoline and diesel engines, but it was the diesel car that became the hot seller. The car was available as a sedan and also as a wagon. This car became extremely popular in Africa due to its capability of conquering rough terrain. There are still countless W123 in Africa today due to their long-lasting ruggedness and reliability.

CLK GTR (1999)

CLK GTR was basically a race car that Mercedes-Benz was forced to build for the road as well as for the homologations of the race. This car is also quite rare as only 20 were built in total along with 6 additional roadsters. The CLK GTR remains the only hypercar in the company’s history, and it will soon be replaced by the upcoming Mercedes-AMG One.

300SL (1954-1963)

Often considered by many people as the most stylish car ever built by Mercedes-Benz, the 300SL is in a league of its own. The long hood, the curvy backend, and those astonishingly gorgeous ‘Gullwing’ doors made it the most talked about car in the 50s and 60s.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black (2014)

If you want the performance version of any Mercedes-Benz car, then you look at AMG. If you want the performance version of the AMG, then there is Black series. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black was the topmost performance version of this sports car. The car featured a gigantic 6.2L V8 engine that produced 622 HP and 468 lb-ft of torque. It also paid tribute to the iconic 300SL with its Gullwing doors.
