How long does it last?

Add 24 months or 36 months of extended coverage or until the vehicle has reached 160,000 km, to your new vehicle basic warranty.

The extended limited warranty begins on the first to occur of 48 months or 80,000 km (the end of your new vehicle warranty). If the vehicle reaches 80,000 km prior to 48 months, then the extended limited warranty period will begin on the repair order date of the first warranty claim submitted at or over 80,000 km.

• The 24-month/160,000 km coverage is similar to new vehicle warranty.
• The 36-month coverage term includes the coverage of the 24-month plan, with the powertrain covered for an additional 12 months.

When can I purchase this warranty?

The Extended Limited Warranty can be purchased at any time during the new vehicle basic warranty period (48 months / 80,000 km), as long as the current owner purchased the vehicle from an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer.

If you have a star certified warranty from a pre-owned purchase, it can be upgraded to an extended limited warranty at any time during the new vehicle basic warranty period, as long as the vehicle has been regularly maintained by an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer. Depending on your model and date of purchase, $600 to $1,500 could be rebated off the purchase price of the extended limited warranty.

Coverage is similar to your new Coverage up to 12 months for the 12-month/100,000 km package, 24 months for the 24-month/160,000 km package:

• Engine: Engine block, cylinder head(s), all internally lubricated parts, intake and exhaust manifolds, timing chain cover, flywheel, flex plate, harmonic balancer, coolant pump, turbocharger, supercharger, belt tensioners, seals and gaskets, hydraulic engine mounts.
• Transmission: Transmission case, control module, all internally lubricated parts, valve body, hydraulic lines, torque converter, control pressure cable, shift linkage(s), slave cylinder, clutch disc, pressure plate, clutch release bearing and fork for vehicles equipped with a manual transmission.
• Automatic Slip Differential (ASD): All hydraulic system components including pump, pressure lines, solenoid/valves and control module.
• Traction Control System (ESP/ASR): Hydraulic unit (ABS/ ASR), charging pump, pressure reservoir and control module.
• 4MATIC™ models: Transfer case, front axle and all internally lubricated parts, front drive & axle shafts, bearings and hubs.
• Rear Axle: Rear axle center section and all internally lubricated parts, rear axle side shafts and drive shafts, center bearing and flex disc, U-joint, rear axles shaft bearings and hubs.
• Diesel Exhaust Treatment: Adblue tank, tank module, Adblue pump, diaphragm pump, AdBlue shift valve, Adblue line, AdBlue heated line, Adblue injection nozzle.
• Cooling System: Thermostat, fan clutch, Radiator and electric coolant fan, coolant expansion tank, transmission and engine oil coolers as well as the metal lines and fittings.
• Fuel Injection System: Vacuum control valve, ALDA/BCAPA (barometric pressurecharge air compensation) unit, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, injectors, fuel injector holders, all metal high pressure fuel injection lines and return lines, injection pump, mass/volume air flow sensor, engine idle speed control valve, fuel heater (diesel only), fuel primer pump (hand operated, diesel only), throttle linkage assembly, fuel tank and expansion tank.
• Steering System: Power steering gear box including PML control valve, PAS pump and pulley, ignition lock including cylinder/tumblers, drag link, steering shock absorber, steering knuckle, tie rods, idler arm, idler arm bushing, rack and pinion power steering, steering wheel, steering shaft.
• Suspension: Coil springs, torsion bar linkage and brackets, shock absorber/ struts, (ABC) hydraulic oil supply pump, air suspension pump, reservoir, valves, accumulators, valve linkage, oil reservoir and cover, oil level sending unit, high pressure oil hose, distribution valve, switch level adjustment, solenoid locking valve, suspension acceleration sensor, body acceleration sensor, switch load sensor, upper and lower control arms, as well as all suspension links and bushings, ball joints, wheel bearing and wheel bearing seals.
• Brake System: Master brake cylinder, brake booster, vacuum pump, ASR/ETC/ESP/SBC hydraulic unit, brake caliper, metal hydraulic lines/fittings and parking brake mechanism.
• Electrical System: Starter system components, all electrical motors, wiring harnesses and connectors, sending units, sensors, switches, fuse boxes, relay modules, electronic control modules, transmitters, instrument panel gauges, rheostats, potentiometers, blower motors & regulator, alternator, regulator & pulley, horns, actuators, timers, electromechanical valves and solenoids, ignition coils, power seat drives, rear window defogger.
• Electronics: Engine control unit, ADS/AS, ESP, ETC, PSE, SAMS, SRS, ACC, A/C Temp., BM, CCM, COMAND, CST, DTR, EIS, RCL, ATA, AAM, ASR, BAS, ETS, Keyless-Go, steering tube control module, gear shift selector module, instrument cluster, door control modules, overhead control module, suction fan control module, emergency calling control units and upper control panel.
• Climate Control: All electrical components noted above, as well as the A/C compressor & clutch, receiver-drier, refrigerant hoses & connections, evaporator, expansion valve, condenser, rear vent control cables, flap actuators, all vacuum valves and elements, auxiliary cooling pump, heater control valve, switchover valve, heater core and heater housing assembly.
• Body: Window regulators, sunroof cables, front and rear windshield wiper linkages and power seat drive cables, all air bags and seat belt assemblies.
• Central Locking System: Actuator/element pneumatic check valve, switches and linkages.
• Remote Central Locking: Transmitters (excluding batteries) and receivers.
• Closing Assist: Actuators, switches, and supply pump. Soft Top/Hard Top: Mechanical linkages, hydraulic unit, valves/solenoids.
• Roll Bar System: Roll bar mechanism or complete assembly, roll bar, hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic unit, valves, and actuators. 25th to 36th month (powertrain only) coverage includes:* Engine: All items listed in 24-month coverage, plus the ME control module and injection pump. Transmission: All items listed in 24-month coverage. Drive Train: Front and Rear axle sections and all internally lubricated parts, axle shafts, axle shaft bearings and hubs, drive shafts, drive shaft center bearing and flex disc assemblies, universal joints, 4MATIC™ transfer case and control module.
