Unlike anything that’s come before it, the 2026 CLA doesn’t simply adopt electric power—it is engineered from the ground up as an electric-first model. But this vehicle is about more than just good looks—underneath its skin lies one of the most advanced EV architectures Mercedes-Benz has ever produced.
At the core of the new CLA is an 800-volt electrical system, inspired by the VISION EQXX concept. This architecture enables impressive performance capabilities and astonishing charging speeds. With the right conditions, the CLA can add over 300 kilometres of range in just 10 minutes using DC fast charging. This level of efficiency is rarely seen in the compact luxury sedan space.
The 2026 CLA arrives in two primary variants: the CLA 250+ Sedan with rear-wheel drive and the CLA 350 4MATIC Sedan with all-wheel drive. Both are equipped with high-efficiency electric motors, advanced two-speed transmissions, and generous battery capacity.
Both models include an 85 kWh lithium-ion battery and are capable of ultra-fast charging. Estimated driving range on the WLTP cycle reaches up to 792 km for the CLA 250+ and 771 km for the CLA 350 4MATIC. While these are European-based estimates, they speak to the remarkable efficiency made possible by the CLA’s cutting-edge design and drivetrain.
Inside, the CLA transforms expectations with a completely redesigned cabin built around the all-new Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS). This platform is the foundation for MBUX Gen 4, the most intelligent infotainment system ever fitted to a Mercedes-Benz.
Unlike previous systems that merely responded to commands, this new version can interact using emotional intelligence, contextual awareness, and adaptive behaviour. It can remember user preferences, understand natural speech more fluently, and even adjust based on driver mood or habits.
The available MBUX Superscreen extends across the dashboard, integrating driver and passenger displays into one unified panel. It’s both elegant and intuitive, providing seamless access to navigation, media, and vehicle settings.
Passengers will also appreciate the standard panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, and available Burmester® 3D Surround Sound System with Dolby Atmos®, creating a sophisticated and serene driving environment. Though compact on the outside, the CLA’s space-saving electric drivetrain opens up more room within the cabin—and even includes a front trunk ("frunk"), a first for Mercedes-Benz in nearly a century.
