5 Signs That Your Mercedes-Benz Needs a Tune-Up

Mercedes-Benz cars are designed to be reliable and provide efficient performance every time you hit the road. However, these vehicles are also made up of electromechanical parts which mean it requires proper care and maintenance in order for it to perform at peak level.

Here are 5 signs which indicate that your Mercedes-Benz vehicle needs a tune-up:

1. Stalling

If a car stalls, then it should be a wakeup call for its owner to take it for a repair as soon as possible. However, a car can stall anytime by accident which might not be a big deal, but if your car is stalling repeatedly then it is a clear indication that something is wrong. Main causes of stalling can be a clogged oil filter or busted spark plugs. All of these problems can be avoided through regular tune-ups.

2. The Car has Gotten Slower

Apart from all the luxury and incredible safety features, Mercedes-Benz vehicles are also known for their high performance and excellent speeds on the road. So if you notice that your car has gotten much slower than it used to be, then it’s definitely the time for a tune-up.

One of the main causes for this sudden sluggish speed of your car is dirty air filters. Experts recommend getting your car’s air filters change after every 6 months. So if it has been more than a year since you last changed the air filter of your car then get it replaced immediately and also get your vehicle’s engine checked for any potential damage that might have been caused by the filthy filter.

3. Check Engine Light Comes On

If you drive any other car than a Mercedes-Benz vehicle, then check engine light might not be that alarming for you. This is because this engine light comes on at even minor situations. However, the case is certainly not the same with Mercedes-Benz vehicles. All Mercedes-Benz vehicles are equipped with highly accurate sensors that will only indicate a problem if it actually occurs. So if the check engine light comes on in your Mercedes-Benz than the car needs to be checked immediately.

4. Bad Fuel Mileage

Mercedes-Benz cars always feature excellent quality engines that are designed to provide the best mileage possible. So if you notice your Mercedes-Benz vehicle putting out a bad mileage than usual then something needs to repaired or checked. A regular tune-up ensures that your car always delivers the best mileage which it is designed for.

5. Unusual Noises

If you start hearing unusual noises coming directly out of the engine then it’s a very bad sign. These noises can indicate a broken engine part, loose fan belt or even issues with the radiator. Whatever the issue might be, when you hear a usual noise from your car, a visit to the mechanic is must. Engine noises do not occur in a Mercedes-Benz vehicle unless the car has been denied regular tune-up for more than a year or so.
