How Often Should You Change Your Oil?

If you drive a Mercedes-Benz, you don’t have to keep tabs on your last Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement* — the Flexible Service System will remind you. Oil service is completed as part of Mercedes-Benz Service A** and Service B** (among other services), and if you keep up with those intervals, you can cruise through Caledon knowing your car’s engine has fresh oil. Read on to learn more about oil service for your new or pre-owned Mercedes-Benz and why it matters.

Service A vs. Service B: Is There a Difference?

There is a difference! Mercedes-Benz Service A is recommended after 1 year or 20,000 km, whichever occurs first. Service A covers basic auto services — which include a Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement and Oil Filter Replacement*. Mercedes-Benz Service B, on the other hand, is recommended after 2 years or 32,000 km (whichever occurs first) and covers all Service A maintenance tasks, plus a brake fluid exchange and a cabin dust/combination filter replacement.  If you have questions about Service A costs*** and Service B costs***, contact our service centre directly for a price quote, as prices can vary based on your location and model.

Oil Service Tips to Keep in Mind

To ensure your car always has a fresh supply of oil, keep the following tips in mind:

  • Even if you don’t spend a lot of time on Orangeville roads, you’ll need to keep up with routine oil service, as oil breaks down over time.
  • During Service A and Service B, the technicians at our service centre will complete a Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement, as well as an Oil Filter Replacement, to ensure the new oil is kept clean for as long as possible. Our team will use only genuine parts during this service — and any service — to ensure the best possible fit.
  • Wondering about the benefits of synthetic oil? Compare regular vs. synthetic to learn more.
