Mercedes-Benz’s Collision Prevention Assist

Mercedes-Benz’s Collision Prevention Assist

Mercedes-Benz has been a pioneer in the field of safety technology. There are safety features to protect the passenger from side collision, front collision, and pedestrian safety among others. Collision prevention assist is the latest technology offered by Mercedes-Benz.

As the name suggests, Collision prevention assist helps in avoiding a collision. The system, relying on sensors, constantly monitors the distance between your car and any obstacles in its path (pedestrians or other vehicles). When the distance is sensed as too close a visual warning is sent out. When the driver fails to respond to the visual warning, a second audible warning is sent.

Collisions are successfully prevented by heeding these warnings. Apart from sending out warnings, the smart Mercedes cars can also automatically cut down on the speed by partial application of brakes. If the driver loses control over the car by the sudden drop in speed, the PRE-SAFE system applies corrective brakes to avoid collision. When the driver does not respond to the warnings, the vehicle will attempt to avoid collision on its own. In case of unpreventable collision, measures to reduce the severity of the impact are undertaken.

Collision prevention assist is available in most Mercedes-Benz cars including M, G, GLK, S, GLA, CLS, E, CLA, B, C and CL class. All of these models are available at Mercedes-Benz Brampton. So regardless of your budget, you can purchase a car that best suits you which is equipped with this safety feature.
