Top 5 Mercedes-Benz Supercars

Mercedes-Benz is famous for producing high-quality luxury vehicles that lead the automotive world. Its cars are also famous for their incredible performance features that trump the competition every time. This is why there is no surprise that the German automakers have produced some of the most iconic supercars in automotive history.

5. Mercedes-AMG GT

The Mercedes-AMG GT is the supercar that is currently in production right now. Jointly made by Mercedes-Benz and AMG, the GT was introduced in 2014. It features the M178 engine by Mercedes-AMG, which is a 4.0 L twin turbocharged V8. The basic engine produces 456 HP, but the latest version, the GT-R, produces 577 HP.

4. Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is a front mid-engine supercar that was produced between 2010 and 2014. Famous for its gorgeous “gullwing” doors, the SLS was a spiritual successor of the iconic 300 SL. In the supercar segment, it was the replacement for the Mercedes-Mclaren SLR.

The SLS featured a gigantic 6.2 L naturally aspirated AMG V8 engine. The most powerful version of this supercar was the SLS AMG Coupe Black Series, which produced 622 HP and 468 lb-ft of torque. It would hit 60 mph from a standstill in just 3.2 seconds and keep on going to the top speed of 196 mph.

3. Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren

The SLR was a joint venture project between Mercedes-Benz and McLaren, and it was produced between 2003 and 2010. The SLR was a front mid-engine and rear-wheel-drive car. It featured a powerful 5.4 L V8 engine that was supercharged for the maximum power output. The 722 version of the SLR produced 641 HP and would propel the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. It had an amazing top speed of 209 mph.

2. Mercedes-AMG Project One

The Mercedes-AMG Project is an upcoming hypercar by the German automakers. It is a plug-in hybrid car that has four electric motors to assist the engine. The engine is actually a variant of the Mercedes-Benz Formula One car. It’s a 1.6 L E-turbo V6. The combined power output of the engine and the electric motors is 1086 HP. It has a top speed of 217 mph and its 0-60 mph time is less than 2.5 seconds.

1.     Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR

The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR is a racecar that was built for the road as well due to certain homologations. Only 30 road legal versions of the car were produced; hence, the car is ultra rare as well. The CLK GTR featured a mammoth 7.3 L naturally aspirated V12 engine that produced 604 HP and 572 lb-ft of torque. It can hit 60 mph from a standstill in just 3.8 seconds and can reach the top speed of 214 mph. It is truly one of the most iconic cars ever made by the German automakers.
